Four Audio Integrates Dante Ultimo™ in DSP-Plate Amplifiers with Pascal Modules
Portland, OR-March 6, 2014- Four Audio, developers of high-end loudspeaker measurement and management solutions for professional audio and OEM partner of Audinate the inventor of Dante together with Pascal, developer and producer of high-power amplifier modules, today announced the launch of a new product at PL&S.
The new PPA series provides a high-quality DSP-powered amplifier solution and aims at vendors of active loudspeakers. It uses Dante Ultimo, Audinates, feature-rich, cost-effective, low channel networking solution. Other features of the PPA Series include:
- 24-bit signal processing using a Sharc-DSP with linear phase FIR and IIR-Crossovers, EQs, and an advanced Limiter concept
- USB connection for programming
- A touchscreen for controlling the unit
- High dynamic range (130 dB(A) dual range converter input, 114 dB(A) output)
- AES/EBU and Dante input
- Pascal amplifier modules and PSU
- 5 models (PPA 1000-2, PPA 1600-2, PPA 2200-1, PPA 2200-2, PPA 2200-3)

Built on existing networking protocols and standards, Dante is a plug-and-play networking solution which delivers ultra-low latency and tightly synchronized media, while simplifying installation and configuration of digital media networks and is rapidly becoming the de-facto market leader and the dominant media networking solution for audio networking.
Dante delivers a low-latency, tightly synchronized, sample-accurate playback, while simplifying installation and configuration of AV networks. Ultimo is Audinate’s cost-effective solution to networking low channel networked devices.
The PPA series plate amplifiers are sold by Four Audio under their own brand as well as OEM. For high volume orders, customization of the plate amplifiers is possible, i.e. a reduced feature set to allow for more cost-effective solutions.
The PPA series extends Four Audio’s Dante-enabled product range consisting of 2 Channel breakout boxes (DBS1), 8 channel breakout boxes (DBO1) and the loudspeaker management system HD2.
